The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is making great efforts to burn down the forests of Islamabad’s Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP).

Smoking Banned

CDA Chairman Nour-Ul-Amin Mengal said the government had decided to make one of the hotspots a no-smoking zone, announcing the ban.

Nur-ul-Amin, “Smoking on the streets of Islamabad is a crime. All roads are now smoke-free.”

Proposal Earlier this year, the CDA banned all recreational activities in Bukit He Margala, citing forest fires, garbage and air pollution.

In April, another district judge upheld the 144th Division in Margara Hills National Park, where a massive fire broke out.

Last August, the Ministry of Environment of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) announced a new route for pedestrians and hikers on Margara Hill.
