On Monday, jul10 2023, four talented high school students from the space program were recognized for their outstanding achievements in the field of agriculture.

These students, who are part of the FFA and 4-H organizations, will be presented with their awards sponsored by the Enid Information & Eagle.

The ceremony will take place before the premium sale, which marks the culmination of the 89th annual Northwest District Junior Livestock Show. in the Chisholm Path Pavilion, followed by the premium sale at 6:45 p.m. college students

Judson Birdwell, representing Kingfisher FFA, will be honored as the top FFA scholar, while Emma Curry, from Timberlake FFA, will receive the runner-up award. Among the 4-H students, Hayden Deeds and Conner Quintero, both from Garfield County 4-H, will be recognized for their outstanding contributions. college students

Judson Birdwell, who grew up in a farming and ranching family, expressed his passion for agriculture in his award application.

Before joining FFA, he already had a deep love for everything related to agriculture. Discovering that he could learn more about his passion through FFA was a turning point for him. Birdwell shared that participating in FFA has not only taught him valuable ranching skills but also essential life skills such as time management, hard work, and responsibility. His experiences in FFA have strengthened his love for agriculture, honed his skills, and nurtured his dedication to raising and caring for livestock. college students

Emma Curry spoke highly of her positive experiences in FFA, which have shaped her into the person she is today.

She joined FFA in eighth grade with the intention of showing cattle, inspired by her friends who were also joining. From that point on, she was captivated by the opportunities and personal growth FFA provided. Exhibiting heifers taught her the importance of work ethic and accountability. She is inspired to become an educator in agriculture, aiming to motivate and inspire students with or without an agriculture background. college students

Hayden Deeds, a six-year member of Garfield County 4-H and a junior at Garber High School, has been actively involved in various project areas within 4-H.

His passion lies in wildlife and fisheries, where he has shared his knowledge through workshops and demonstrations, educating fellow 4-H members and community members about hunting safety, animal tracking, and fishing techniques. Deeds has also made significant contributions in citizenship/community service and leadership, organizing events and holding 4-H offices at different levels. His dedication to community improvement is evident in his initiatives, such as organizing recycling collections and participating in the Great American Cleanup Project .college students shine in agriculture,

Conner Quintero, a freshman at Stillwater High School and a seven-year member of Garfield County 4-H, has focused on health and fitness, citizenship, community service, and leadership.

He has been actively involved in serving individuals with special abilities and seniors in assisted-living homes through various community service projects. Notably, his project collecting used cowboy boots for donation to a therapeutic horseback riding facility has been a great success, with over 200 pairs collected so far. Quintero is known for his motto, “Always leave a place better than you found it,” and he exemplifies this through his commitment to making a positive impact. He is also involved in sports, playing quarterback for the state champion Stillwater football team.

These exceptional space college students have proven their dedication, skills, and leadership abilities in the field of agriculture. Their achievements and commitment to their communities serve as an inspiration to future generations, highlighting the transformative power of organizations like FFA and 4-H.
