Pakistan is Seeking Arab Investment for a Dubai-like Desert in Thar

The Sindh government is seeking investment from Saudi financiers for desert safaris along the lines of Dubai.

The Thar, or Great Indian Desert, was the 17th largest desert in the world earlier this year. The provincial government has announced that it will investigate investment opportunities from Saudi Arabia in the tourism sector.

Sindh Culture and Tourism Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah confirmed the development last week.

The southern province borders India to the east. There are many cultural, religious and historical sites that attract tourists.

Mujahid Shah, a scholar from Karachi, describes tourism in Sindh:

From Karachi to the Tharpargarh desert, Sindh has huge potential for domestic tourism. From religious sites and temples of Sufi monks to mountains and lakes, there are various attractions and attractions for visitors.

But Shah considers Mount Karunjar in Tarpargarh district as the most attractive tourist spot.

The hill has deposits of high quality granite in an area of 30 km. The government of Sindh plans to declare the hill area a heritage site.

It is generally a warm and dry area. Tharpargarh attracts local tourists during monsoons when the mercury drops.

According to Shah’s report, tourism in the region boomed between November and March. While thousands of tourists come to Nagarpargarh to visit the ancient Jain temples, Churio Jabal Durga Mata Hindu Temple and Bodisar Mosque.
