Ncell Axiata Limited is constructing and conserving the Lanchaur ground in the heart of Kathmandu under its business social responsibility. The green park with playground to be constructed under this project is aimed at contributing to the construction of a clean, neat, green city.
This green garden is located in Kathmandu Municipal Corporation ward no. It is being built at Lanchaur Maidan at 26. The park will feature a mini football field, basketball court, open gym and children’s play area. The park will be built on the existing Lanchaur grounds with an area of 54,921 square feet.
Ncell and Kathmandu Municipal Corporation ward no. 26 has already signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction and protection of this green garden under Ncell’s commercial social responsibility. As per the understanding, Ncell is constructing Lanchaur Green Garden as per the design prepared and approved by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
The ground clearance work has been completed and the ground is being excavated for the construction of the park. Traditional stone fountains, parking for visitors, toilet facilities and solar lights are some of the additional features of the park.

As a responsible corporate citizen, Ncell has been carrying out social work under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a focus on education and health, as well as environmental protection and climate action. The Industrial Business Rules 2076 has also made environmental protection a major area under business social responsibility.
Since its inception, Ncell has contributed more than Rs. 1.27 billion for social and economic development in various sectors including health, education, environment, disaster prevention and response and livelihood assistance. Health, education and environment are the top priorities of Ncell.
Under the environment sector, Ncell, in collaboration with the Department of Forest and Soil Conservation, has been constructing and conserving greenery in the green belt area of the Kalanki road section from Koteshwor. Ncell aims to contribute to the protection of the environment by developing and conserving the greenery of this road section which is about 10.2 km long.
Earlier, Ncell had planted 50,000 saplings in 33 hectares of land in Dhanushadham Protected Forest and also conducted public awareness programs in Dhanusha on tree planting and environmental protection and promotion. Following the successful implementation of this initiative, the government has also declared the Dhanushadham Protected Forest as an ‘open grazing and irregular deforestation free zone’.
